Use Policies

The Riggory Ridge Web site is designed for use by people interested in preventing learning and behavior disorders. The members of the Riggory Ridge working group seek to provide accurate information that has strong roots in empirical research. Where ever possible, we provide sources for our statements about the effectiveness of practices, procedures, and programs described in our published work. Because implementation of the practices, procedures, and programs is a critical element in their effectiveness, it is important that people following the recommendations of the working group use them in the way that they were designed. Those who implement the practices, procedures, and programs described here as effective should evaluate them directly; they should be sure to collect data about both the fidelity of their implementation and the effects of the procedures.

The Riggory Ridge working group expressly prohibits posting of any discriminatory, defamatory, abusive, profane, threatening, offensive, sexually explicit or illegal materials on its Web site. Any material that is copyrighted may only be posted with written consent of the copyright holder. By posting materials that are copyrighted, the person or people posting them warrants that he, she, or they owns the copyright for the materials or has received written permission to use them on this site from the copyright owner.

Although we strive to promote effective methods for preventing learning and behavior disorders, we cannot guarantee that the recommendations one will find on other sites to which we have links will be effective. Accordingly, we have provided a disclaimer on those pages in the Riggory Ridge site that refer users to outside resources.

The Riggory Ridge working group cannot control what others may say about our work. We encourage the full and public discussion of the methods promoted here and believe that any fair, evidence-based comparisons with other methods of preventing learning and behavior disorders will either reveal the superiority of the methods we recommend or will result in us promoting other methods found to be superior.
